There are three main categories of arguments that religious apologists employ in the defense of religion:
(1) That religion is true.
(2) That religion is useful.
(3) That atheism is bad.
Notice how neither one of these has ANYTHING to do with the other two.
Let’s “clear this one last hurdle” about homosexuality. What’s worse? Following the bible to the “T”, to the very last letter of the inspired word of God, or not—- meaning you cherry pick from it. In my book, for all their bigoted, awful worldviews, fundamentalists and people like the Westboro Baptist Church get a bit more respect because they stick to their guns.
Don’t get me wrong, though, those people still suck.

Engines of intolerance. 100 years from now someone can pick up one of these books and find reasons and justifications to be as bad as Ted Haggerty or worse.
